Residency Training Program Associate Program Director:
Associate, Departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Rivelli received her medical degrees from Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2001 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine-Psychiatry at Duke in 2006. She is active in education in both departments and is working to promote and enhance combined Med-Psych training nationally. She is the Medical Director of the MedPsych Service and Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison at Duke Hospital. She rounds on inpatient Medicine, inpatient Psychiatry, MedPsych service and Psychiatry consult-liaison at Duke Hospital. Research interests include identifying biomarkers in delirium, and evidenced-based psychiatric interventions for medical inpatients. In her spare time, she enjoys organic gardening.
Med/Psych Faculty:
- Eric J. Christopher, M.D.
Assistant Professor, Duke Departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Christopher completed his medical education at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1996. After graduation he completed the combined Internal Medicine-Psychiatry training program at Duke in 2001. He stayed on faculty at Duke and the Durham VA Medical Center. He attends on inpatient psychiatry, med/psych service, and the psych consult service at Duke. He also started the combined primary care clinic at the Durham VA. He currently is the Medical Director for all clinical services in the department of Psychiatry at Duke Hospital. He has volunteered as a Disaster Mental Health Technician/Supervisor for the American Red Cross after the September 11th attacks at Ground Zero and Hurricane Katrina. Personally, he enjoys reading, photography, and cooking.
- Jane Gagliardi, M.D.
Assistant Clinical Professor, Departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Gagliardi completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Duke in 2003 is on faculty in the Departments of Medicine and Psychiatry. She is the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in the Department of Medicine and is the director of the clerkship and subinternship as well as electives in the Department of Medicine. She is a 1998 graduate of the Duke University School of Medicine and a 1994 graduate of Brown University. Dr. Gagliardi enjoys patient care and teaching on inpatient Medicine, MedPsych service, Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison, and inpatient Psychiatry. She is working to expand the Evidence-Based Medicine teaching available to medical students in the School of Medicine. She previously served as editorial fellow at The Medical Letter and is completing her Masters degree in Health Services through the DCRI. Research interests include cognitive impairment/dementia and educational interventions. Outside the hospital, Dr. Gagliardi is busy with family life and enjoys running and swimming.
- Wei Jiang, M.D.
Dr. Jiang was a Cardiologist in China and she graduated from Binzhou
Medical College in 1982. Because of her strong research interests
in the relationship between mental disorders and cardiovascular disease,
she joined the Behavioral Cardiology Laboratory at Duke University
Medical Center in 1989 as a research physician. From 1997 to 2002,
she completed her residency training in the Duke Medicine/Psychiatry
combined program. She is now an assistant professor of medicine and
an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke
University Medical Center. Other roles include heading research development
to investigate therapeutic modalities and underlying mechanisms of
the adverse impacts of certain mental disorders on cardiovascular
diseases. Dr. Jiang has published extensively in this area with regards
to epidemiological findings, underlying mechanisms, and potential
effective interventions. She enjoys direct patient care and is an
avid teacher. Dr. Jiang serves as the only physician treating the
adult population in the Duke Outpatient Eating Disorders Program.
Her enriched background in Chinese culture and traditional Chinese
Medicine also empowers her to provide care for patients with such
needs. At her leisure time, Dr. Jiang takes pleasure in singing, dancing,
knitting & crocheting, watching Chinese movies and reading American
novels. Her favorite hobby is cooking for her lovely son and husband.
- Xavier Preud'homme, M.D.
Assistant Professor, Departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Preud’homme received his medical degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1993, and then a residency in Psychiatry at Hôpital Erasme in 1998 in Brussels, Belgium. He attended on an inpatient unit specializing in mood and sleep disorders, while conducting research in related areas. He completed the Internal Medicine-Psychiatry training program at Duke in 2006. He rounds on inpatient Medicine, inpatient Psychiatry, MedPsych service and Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison at Duke Hospital. Research interests include sleep homeostasis, insomnia, and overactive bladder disease. He enjoys riding his bike to work, French movies and cooking for his family
- Yeshesvini "Vini" Raman, M.D.
Dr. Raman joined the Duke faculty in 2004 after completing a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is now the director of the Mental Health-Primary Care Durham VA Medical Center. She also works providing general medical and psychiatric care at Structure House, a residential weight loss treatment center. Prior to coming to Duke, Dr. Raman was a staff physician and clinical instructor in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Cambidge Hospital and Harvard University School of Medicine, respectively.
